Rock Creek Lake was destined to be a favorite recreation spot for people of Deer Lodge and around the valley. Whether it was trolling the lake for steelheads, or fly-fishing in Rock Creek, or just enjoying weenie roasts at a campfire outside one of the cabins along the shore, this beautiful little lake was -- and still is -- a primo attraction. As a kid, I spent many noisy and happy weekends there in cabins owned by families of school friends of mine. The Warrens had a catboat that my dad built, so we did some sailing on the lake, as well as trolling.
