On the left is the unmistakable facade of the Rialto. Notice the ubiquitous Model T's. Note the elegant lamp posts all along Main Street, and the fancy wrought-iron horse fountain in the center of the bank crossing. Deer Lodge had a big sense of style. After all, it competed with Helena to become state capital. All the local industries were thriving -- ranching, mining, logging. This picture reflects the prosperity and optimism of the 1920s.
